Answers before you ask
Everything you'd want to know before you commit.
What is a Kanjeevaram saree?
A Kanjeevaram (or Kanchipuram) saree is a hand-loomed silk saree woven in the town of Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. It's known for its thick pure-silk body, contrasting silk borders, and 22-carat gold zari — traditionally worn at weddings and festivals across South India.
How can I tell the silk is pure?
Pure mulberry silk feels warm and slightly rough to the touch, not slippery. Every saree from us ships with a Silk Mark certification (issued by the Silk Mark Organisation of India), which guarantees 100% natural silk.
How do I choose the right saree?
Consider the occasion, the amount of zari work you want, and the palette. For weddings, look for heavy zari borders and traditional motifs (peacocks, mangoes, temple borders). For daily wear, softer silks and lighter zari sit more comfortably. If you're unsure, DM us on Instagram — we help match sarees to occasions all the time.
How do I care for a hand-loomed saree?
Always dry clean, never machine wash. Store folded loosely in a cotton bag, refold every few months so creases don't set. Keep away from perfume and direct sunlight.
